Restaurants, groceries, taverns, schools and other food operations that serve food to the public are licensed and inspected by the Department of Food and Consumer Safety. Retail food establishments have regular, unannounced routine inspections based on risk. Most food establishments are inspected every four to six months. Recheck inspections are conducted to ensure compliance. Staff also investigates consumer complaints.
Search by name or address to find inspection reports for a specific food establishment. General searches can be performed by establishment type, region or dates of inspection. State law requires that inspection reports are not posted until ten days after the inspection date. If you have any questions about the inspection reports, please contact the Department of Food and Consumer Safety at 317-221-2222.
